Blue Hawaiian Helicopters, the Movie Professionals

Over the last century, filmmakers have traveled to Hawaii numerous times for the beautiful scenery and unparalleled romance of the islands. Yet the prospect of capturing aerial views of the spectacular Hawaiian landscape can be challenging, especially with multi-million dollar budgets on the line. And for many years, Blue Hawaiian Helicopters has been the first-call helicopter tour company of choice for top Hollywood producers and filmmakers.

During the early 1990s, legendary director Steven Spielberg commissioned Blue Hawaiian to capture footage of the Hawaiian islands for his blockbuster film Jurassic Park and its sequel, The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Blue Hawaiian also assisted the producers of Disney’s Pearl Harbor, which used aerial scenes from the real Pearl Harbor on Oahu.

Other movies that enlisted the company’s aerial photography services include, just to name a few: Flight of the Intruder, Crimson Tide, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Tropic Thunder, Honeymoon in Vegas, and the recent Battleship. Blue Hawaiian has also worked with a number of television producers, including National Geographic, the Food Channel, MTV, and the Weather Channel.
